Girls Sleeping Bags

There are a vast amount of girls sleeping bags to choose from. Find out what to look for and what your choices are.

Do you remember how fun it was to sleep in a sleeping bag?  Of course we still do it while camping, but as a kid it used to be a blast sleeping in the bag for a sleep over.  I can guarantee that your children will love it just the same.  A girls sleeping bag will make a fine present and one that she will be able to enjoy for years to come.  There are a few things to consider though first before you go off shopping.

What exactly is your girl going to be using the sleeping bag for?  Is going to be used as primarily an outdoor bag to keep her warm?  Or maybe you want an all purpose girl sleeping bag?  In this case, you’ll want to make sure that the bag is properly insulated to trap in heat.  Some bags are more made for show and not for go.

The sleeping bags that have the warmest materials are of course going to cost a bit more, but the price you’ll pay for the peace of mind you’ll have knowing that your girl is warm will be well worth the investment.  Look for sleeping bags that are made of down or wool.  These are the most insulated and will be able to trap and retain body heat the best. The other bags that are made out of cotton or synthetic materials generally aren’t as warm and will wear down much faster.

Girls sleeping bags are no different than mens besides the color or style of bag.  You can have a custom fit sleeping bag if you prefer and adult bags come in more varieties than children’s.  Or you can just buy a bag that has added adjustments so that you won’t have to waste money as your children age and grow.  These sleeping bags have whats called an extendable footbox that will allow you to zip on a new portion of sleeping bag when you need.  This way you could also allow your children to share the bag if one child is bigger than the other.

On the other hand, if you aren’t too concerned about the bag being that warm and don’t want to spend too much money because she’s not going to use it for more than any indoor recreational fun, than a cheap ol’ girl sleeping bag will work just fine.  You can find these bags just about anywhere and will have a plethora of options on the internet as well.

Look for bags in the theme of your girls choice.  There are many popular sleeping bags that come with cool little zip up compartments and pockets and a whole lot of different designs and other add-ons to choose from.  Ask your girl what she wants, or better yet, bring her along with so she can make the choice herself.
