Kelty Sleeping Bags

Kelty sleeping bags are made for the avid outdoor camper but they do offer many bags for other needs as well. Learn more about what they have to offer.

I’ve written and reviewed about many different brands of sleeping bags and Kelty stands right up there with some of the best.  Kelty specializes in camping products like backpacks, tents, outside furniture, and kids strollers and carriers.  Kelty sleeping bags are popular amongst avid campers and offer a large line of kids bags as well.  They do offer a wide variety of choices and sell sleeping bags that are meant to be used for different purposes.

The four main categories of bags they are offer are their Apex series, Backcountry, Trail, and Basecamp.

Apex Series Foraker 15:

This Kelty sleeping bag is made of down material to keep you warm at night but is light enough to carry around without being overwhelmed with the weight.  This sleeping bag is one of the cheaper less expensive bags in this line and runs around $300.  You’ll get a comfy bag with waterproofed feet and hood areas, carrying sack, anti-snag zipper, hanger loops, and much more.

Backcountry Light Year Down 0:

This 2008 Backpacker best buy sleeping bag is a great bag for campers who don’t want to haul a heavy bag around with them.  This means take this bag with you if you plan on hiking long distances and don’t want to be bogged down with a heavy bag and end up with a sore back at the end of the day.

Besides its lightweight design, it is a four season sleeping bag that comes equipped with a zipper along the waste and feet so you can open it up a bit if you are too warm.  Much of the other features, like the Chevron stitching and storage sack are standard on most Kelty Sleeping Bags.

Trail Little Dipper:

Want the perfect outdoor camping bag for your little one?  Keltys Little Dipper is a junior sized bag with extra insulation in the chest area to protect your child and keep them warm at night.  This bag also has a two way zipper so they can loosen it up from both sides as needed.  This bag runs for around $50 and is about 60 inches in length.  This Kelty sleeping bag for kids can actually be opened up flat and laid out for use as a blanket.

Basecamp Corona Double:

How about a sleeping bag made for two?  This rectangular shaped sleeping bag has a dual hood to keep both of your heads warm at night.  It also conveniently has two sides of zippers so you can easily get in and out or unzip it for more comfort.  The Corona Double sells new for $120.
