Toddler Sleeping Bags

Don't get overwhelmed with the amount of toddler sleeping bags there are. Here are a few steps to make shopping for the right one much easier.

Children certainly enjoy having the opportunity to get snuggled up in their sleeping bags.  They use them when camping out, sleeping over at a friend’s, or even at their own house.  However, some bags are more comfortable and warmer than others.  Here are a few tips to help you find toddler sleeping bags that are both comfortable and affordable.

I’m sure you are well aware of the vast amount of different choices there are.  No need to get overwhelmed though, lets break this down so we can weed out the bad choices and just focus on exactly what you need.

First you need to think about the size of sleeping bag you need.  They do make toddler sized sleeping bags, so we can narrow this part down quickly.  Although, some toddlers might feel more comfortable in sleeping bag one size up.  This will allow your toddler to grow into their sleeping bag so you won’t have to replace it as often.

Some sleeping bags, especially the bags for younger kids, already have a sewn in pillow in the sleeping bag itself.  This is a nice little addition to save you the hassles of having to bring a pillow to where ever it is he/she may be going.

Next you’ll want to consider the fabrics that the bags are made of.  This is especially important to consider if your toddler has allergies.  If this is the case be sure to stay away from feather or down sleeping bags.  Most bags will say right on the tag what they are made out of.  Ask the dealer for a hypoallergenic material to avoid the histamines.

Most toddler sleeping bags are made of cotton and synthetic materials.  Of course you can spend more money on silk, satin, or down, but I don’t think your toddler will be so picky.

What’s most important to your toddler is the color or design of the kids’ sleeping bag.  They make the bags in all kinds of different themes, stars, and characters.  From Princesses to Dinosaurs, Football to Soccer, Movies and Movie stars, your kids favorite most likely won’t be a problem to find.

Lastly the price range you are willing to pay should break this selection down even more so.  You can spend upwards of $100 for a top of the line quality toddler sleeping bag.  A more conservative price for these bags though run just upwards of $40.

You can find them at just about any department store.  Some specialty stores dealing with camping or sleeping would be another place to look.  And don’t rule out the internet as a place to shop.  This way you are not limited to the selections and prices of just your local area.
